This is not for my SAAB but for wife's Volvo I hope my fellow SAABers can straighten me out. This past weekend the we took our daughter to campus visit at Johns Hopkins in Maryland. The 940 wagon had a blow-out on the front passenger tire about a mile from campus. Since it's almost time before the scheduled tour starts, wife and daugther took a cab to the university. Our two sons helped me put the donut on the front and we limped to the nearest gas station.
Needless to say we can not drive around with the donut. The 940 has 205/60-15 S rated tires, same size as the SAAB incidentally except the SAAB tires are H rated. The gas station attendant said they can only get a T rated tire. Without thinking I told him to go ahead. So we drove home wit a T rated front passenger tire and 3 S rated tires.
Is it safe? What are my options. The 3 S rated tires are almost new. Should I change the lone T rated tire to S rated?
