I would not remove the transmission on account of a throw-out bearing. It is not worth it IMO. This is a $16 part. Plus the likelyhood of a chain reaction failure because of it is low. Could it be more severe than what I experienced last week on my 94cs? I had one set of springs broken on the clutch plate. The broken springs got stuck between the fingers on the pressure plate preventing the TO beraing from pushing the clutch fingers and shifting. Naturally the car was stranded.
I'll wait for other parts inside the transmission housing to fail first.
