Hi George,

I actually had exactly the same problem two weeks ago! My car is the same year and model with an HK system and oddly enough the same speaker!

Another saab guy suggested a test .... pull out the ashtray and reach your hand up behind the stereo when its on......and giggle the wires around. THis should cause the noise to stop. THis is however, not the fix.

I took it to the dealer and they took the stereo out and found a pour connection with this noise reduction thing. It wasnt very expensive and touch wood it will stay fixed.

ps. i took mine to a stereo shop and the tech wanted to remove the deck and send it off.....very expensive.
