KeithR is right, except that I think, if the cable is broke you have to replace the whole cable-pulleys-railing-shuttle assembly. I have two occasions where we replaced the passenger side cable. The shuttle (green plastic attached to window glass)is not replaceable. It is included as a whole assembly together with the railing. Probably you can buy the railing with the shuttle and the cable as separate parts. You would notice that the shuttle can't be separated from the railing unless you unweld the end part of the railing. I think you can buy them as an assembly, railing-shuttle-pulleys. The cable can be separate. 90% of the time, the shuttle would brake, releasing the cable lock(lock resides in the shuttle groove) and could damage anything from the pulleys to the gear in the motor. What happened in mine was that we replaced the cable and plastic gear where it wounds. We were not able to replace the shuttle (it has broken clippings). It worked for at least a year before it gave up. Now we had to replace the whole assembly, railing-shuttle-motor-cable-pulleys. Good I have a saab mechanic friend who gave me the parts for free. I hope this could be of help to you. I think your problem is the shuttle and not the cable. If you can buy just the shuttle, then good, but you have to unweld the end fixture on the railing to insert the shuttle. Good Luck.
