Why 195/50? That's rather small....

The smallest tire ever to come stock on a 9000, in terms of overall diameter, is a 205/55/15, which has a diameter of 23.89". 195/50/15 is 22.68", or about 5% smaller. Considering that my speedo reads 10% high with a 205/55/15 (my stock size!!), yours could be reading 15% high or more, say 69 mph when you're actually going 60 mph.

Like I say, it depends on your year 9000. If it's '86-92, you will have less error, but still a great deal. If it's a '93-'98, the error will be even higher because stock on those cars was 205/55/16 or 205/60/15.

If you want to stick with a 195 series tire, no problem, but at least make it a 195/60 or 195/65 !!

All that said, there may be something to Quasi's theory of the speedometer itself being the problem, since my speedometer specifies on the dial that there should only be 2.6% error, and I have 10%.... ugh. But, at least with the right sizes tires (or one larger, as I've just done), it will be less. :)
