If the TCS needs recalibration, it will require a trip to the dealer. NOw when I replaced mine, the car had a limp home mode fault going and so it was a MUST-DO situation. I'm not sure that installing a new throttle body will necessitate a recalibration, but it seems like a good idea IMHO to have it done any way. One note, though, all these cars have multiple systems tied in to each other. So if your cruise control, for instance, doesn't work, your TCS can't be recalibrated.
On the up side, replacing the throttle body itself is a snap. My one recommendation would be to check the accelerator cable for too much play. If you find it easy to move around, you should think about getting a new one. I found a nice new responsiveness to my car after getting this all done and hope you do too.
