I do have the step-by-step instructions set out in the FAQ's, and I'm hoping to be able to follow them properly, though I'll admit that at certain points they appear a bit too obscure for a novice such as myself.
I really want to give these things a try, though. It's the only way to begin to educate myself about this car.
I had to back off from the project yesterday, because my best friend had a chance to buy a 900 which appeared to be in great condition (from the outside!), but was 4 hours away from us. (She's been in the market for a classic 900 for months!) I went along with her...she had to walk away, though...far too many quirks and questions, which I'm going to post on the 900 board for clarification.
I'll be attempting my antenna mast "reconstruction" today, but guess what...the 900 my friend and I looked at yesterday...the owner had the antenna mast replaced professionally, and it STILL didn't work. Yikes.
I'm hoping to be able to do a better job!
I must admit, however, that I cannot understand why my mast and cable will not pull UP through the top as everyone else's seems to do.
Thanks for the concern and the offer for help. Hopefully I'll have friends around on this board today in case I get into some real trouble.
Julia
