You're probably getting more than 20 psi of boost, so a better BPV
is in order. Also, you should really purchase a good calibrated boost
gauge to really quantify what the boost is. I think the piston design
is more durable than the diaphragms when it comes to BPV's.
You might want to look at the Hyperboost that Stratmosphere has
been selling to the Audi crowd. Looks to be a very well made piece
and the piston is Teflon coated. I use a TurboXS, which is also
a well-made piston design, but the Hyperboost has similar dimensions as the OEM Bosch and is definitely easier to fit than
the TurboXS. As far as adaptation goes, it may take a while for
the T5 to completely adapt. Don't worry about the boost gauge
going into the red. That gauge doesn't really tell you a lot - you
really need to get a calibrated gauge. When you get one, do some
runs on the highway and tell us how BSR set the boost. It should
slowly peak to a certain value, maybe stay there for 1-1.5k rpm and
slowly taper down in value up 'til the red-line. Oh, and I'd also refer
you to past posts from JJ. He's had an Aero automatic with the
Abbottized ECU, for quite a while, and his transaxle, with over
125k miles, hasn't exploded.
