I live in Virginia Beach and have trouble finding needed parts in local salvage yards. I was taking some vacation time to visit family in upstate NY (Utica/Rome area) and did a little yard hopping. 1st and foremost I needed a new alternator/ motor mount bracket as I cracked mine while pressing in a new mount the day before the trip. It didn't move but I put a 2 3/4 inch muffler clamp on to hold it tight. I was able to get the bracket used at a SAAB shop called Tired Iron Works in Sequoit. Claude was nothing less than a godsend, he hooked me up for $10! My main point of interest was a used ACCII panel. Claude told me he didn't have on of my models but expect to pay $400. I had one priced at $150 in VA but thought I could do better in a place where SAABs are more popular. Long story short... at 430pm I was in a junkyard (BOBs) that wanted to close. The guy was in such a rush to get out of there he sold me the panel and a cabin temp sensor for $27!! I couldn't beleive it! The only thing I have to worry about now is my alternator. Voltages were up and down before the trip so I installed a Bosch voltage regulator. After the install the symptoms are still the same. I guess I'll go to eeuroparts and order an alternator. All and all I have to say it went much better than expected. I was ready to shell out $175 for the panel and bracket together but bought both for less than $50!
