Why do I try to work from memory?

I found the switch thanks to Paul & Kappy. For the record the pins are numbered: there are 3, which run sequentially from the English driver's side to the American's ('91 9KT). I peeled back the rubber cover (didn't look this thing had ever been moved) and stuffed an open paper clip down the back of the connector, effectively jumping pins 2 & 3.
Notes to anyone doing this:
You'll lose idle and need to drive two-footed with an auto tranny. It stalled once the first time I tried to start it after removing the paper clip. Don't panic, this is apparently normal.
Now to get back to my memory issues. I forgot to remove fuse # 23 temporarily (10 sec. minimum) prior to starting the run. I assume that is to clear the memory of the APC. Oh, well...at least I won't be scared when I do it again tomorrow night.
