I'll echo the others - I've had the check valve fail and leak all the fluid out. MUCH easier to replace than the tank, but the price is outrageous.
You don't mention what year your car is. That affects access. On my '92, I didn't have to remove the wheel inner liner. There is a horizontal piece of plastic behind the air dam. It was about 5 screws, and it came out, giving tight but doable access to the bottom of the tank, and the check valve. To make matters a little easier, with that panel out, you can undo about 3 screws holding the side of the air dam in, and get much better access.
