The first time it happens it can be really scary. It feels like your throttle pedal kicks back. Now what you do if that happens you release and immediately press it down with full force. It almost always happens when you're accelerating.
Your car will accelerate, albeit very slowly. There is no limit on speed if you think that's the case. I've been doing happily 90MPH in limp home on the highway, although it takes some time to get there. And after a while your leg gets crampy of pushing. But it works
One thing you have to be aware of: If you have an auto, the shift points of the tranny will be totally different, and you will not get into 4th until you go over 80 mph. The tranny normally switches on air pressure at inlet, and the TCS is vital for that. I guess it goes into some sort of 'default'mode, causing it to jerk. It does NOT like it.
As soon as you stop, idling will drop to 300-400rpm. That's why AC is disabled, but at most times it will stall all the same. If you want to keep it running, VERY gently glide to a stop.
But then again, you probably won't. Just let it stall, and restart. My car ALWAYS came out of LHM when restarted. When it is still in LHM after a restart, you have a SERIOUS problem, but fortunately diagnosis will be relatively easy.
