Stuck hold-down bolt on front sway bar bushing...ARGH!!

Along with my last post on my stuck front rotors, I also stopped trying to get the hold-down clamp off of the driver's side front sway bar bushing due to the rear-most bolt (closest to firewall) not coming out. So I thought I would venture on to my rotors, but that got me nowhere as well.
Anyway, how does one remove the little demon? I was able to remove the front-most one with no problem, but I have tried all my gadgets, including a 1/4" drive ratchet (which is quite small) to get into the spot for the rear-most one, and in doing so, snapped my 1/4" drive knuckle due to too much stress.
Am I supposed to remove anything else to get in there? I'm in the process of replacing my control-arm bushings, complete end-links and all related bushings, front sway bar bushings, and rotors and pads. So, basically, all the components associated with the front sway bar have been removed or loosened. Am I missing something?
I know others have removed and replaced these things, so I'm hoping there's an answer out there (somewhere). All of the bolts and nuts have not been seized up (probably due to the age and mileage), I'm just having a problem getting into that tight spot to give it a good turn to loosen the bolt.
S.O.S.!!!!!!!!!
TIA
Joe
