Other things as well.
Start by cleaning out the AIC valve with some WD40 or throttle body cleaner. Then clean the contacts for the valve.
If this doesnt help -
The AMM is primarily resposible for controlling the air/fuel mixture until the oxygen sensor warms up to operating temperature. If the AMM is faulty, then the ECU will have difficulty instructing the AIC valve how to regulate the idle after a cold start. The best way to test the AMM is to swap it for a known good one. The AMMs are very specific to each model year, so be absolutely sure that you have the right one.
To prevent the car from ever stalling, you can cheat a little by turning up the idle screw to elevate the idle slightly to about 1000 rpm. This is what to do if your AIC completely malfunctions, but it can also help a marginal AIC to function better, meaning that it might also help to smooth out the cold start hunting that you describe.
If you have a volt meter, you can test the functioning of the oxygen sensor. With the car running, tapping into the sensor at it's connection clips by the intake manifold should give a voltage reading that fluctuates between .2 and .9 volts once every second (approximately).
The other two possibilities are a vaccum leak or a bad coolant temperature sensor.
By process of elimination, you should be able to find the source of the problem. I wouldn't waste too much time on it though.
Good luck!
