anders, others... tcs problem and question

I have gone over most if not all of the posts here concerning LHM. I have a 95 Aero that goes into limp, when pedal depressed halfway. I have 5 code flashes from check engine light. This condition came on suddenly and has been constant since it started. I had a vacum leak a year ago with intermittant TCS woes and fixed that quite easily.
I have a couple of questions.
I tried switching the saftey valve and the boost valve after reading they are the same part and was still in LHM. Does this eliminate the safety valve?
I also have read that in a manual car, such as my Aero, that the pedal sensor can be changed seperately from the throttle body and that it is a $75 dollar part instead of a $750.00 one. Is this the case? Can this part be cleaned?
Could this "permanent" problem be a recalibration issue?
Thank you all in advance.
