Hi All,
Thanks for your feedback about running wire through the firewall. It took me a while with my big awkward hands (I'm 6'-8") but I got it through and I'm glad I did. For those that are interested in such silly things, I installed a new run of 2 awg power wire and a one farad capacitor to supply my 60 x 4 Phoenix Gold amp and 1200 x 1 JBL subwoofer amp. This in turn feeds a three way set of Focal Polyglass components, and set of small enclosed speakers which are secured directly in front of the front seats and firing up (my solution to getting bass in the front of a 9k), and a 10" Focal Polyglass sub in a sealed enclosure in the boot. The source is a Clarion 9575rz. The previous wire was 10 awg which simply didn't cut it (this was installed by a "professional"). The improvements were quite apparent by a tightening up of the lower frequencies and an improvement to the clarity of the upper registers and the subjective pace and rhythm of the midrange. After all was set up I sat in my driveway for around 45 minutes listening to Diana Krall completely absorbed in the music. My wife had to come and rap on the window glass to get me out of the car.
