I have been very happy with Hakkapelitta 1's with the ecostuds. You can probably drive up the side of a building in an ice storm. They have 35k miles on them and I will get one more winter, their 4th. Obviously they wear very well on dry pavement. Handling is good, but there is some extra body roll due to the softer sidewalls. I am partial to studs rather than the Blizzak style because the non studded "ice" tires do not last.
I bought them from Greer in Wisconsin and paid approx $45 per tire plus $12 per tire for the eco studs(regular were cheaper). I bought steel wheels with them, so mounting and balancing were free.
I do wish that I had bought 195/65-15 rather than 185/65-15, but at the time, i thought the narrower tire would be better. I would rather have the clearance of the slightly taller tire and sacrifice a bit with the wider tread.
