I have decided to try the Ferodo DS2500 pads wiuth a new set of grey iron discs from Trent Saab. Will report on the results. Out of interest, I was quoted £56.30 per OEM disc from a Saab dealer, compared £120 per pair from Trent, both plus VAT – much the same, realy. The pads are much more expensive at £96.70 compared with about £39 from Avon Saab last time they put some in, but they did charge £30 to fit so I can save that by doing it myself.

Europarts didn't seem to have any ATE (discs or pads) in stock just now and I need to get back on the road...

Finally, Trent suggest I spend a lot of time bedding in the Ferodo pads, with progressive gentle stops from different speeds, but without actually stopping if you get my drift!
