You really don't want to swap out an entire wiring harness just to wire in the headlights.
You've got two options, as I see it. You can either cut off the existing 9004 bulb connector and put on an H4 bulb connector, or you can make a 9004-H4 adapter. The first option is by far the best; the fewer extra connections, the better things will be. It just requires a little commitment on your part.
You should be able to buy a pair of H4 bulb connectors at an autoparts store. Cut off the old 9004 connector, strip back a little of the wire, and crimp on the new connector.
Alternatively, you can buy or build a converter cable. To build one, go out and buy some cheap 9004 bulbs, carefully break and remove the glass and filament, and use the base as one side of a harness. Or you can buy a converter.
Go to http://www.fastforward.ca/ and look under Lights. They have the information for you to do your own wiring, and they advertise an adaptor. Yes, it's for a VW Vanagon, but the electrons won't know.
Good luck!
