Having owned both the 2.0 and 2.3 9000s, I have to say that the 2.3 wins without question. Granted, my 2.0 did NOT have a counter balance shaft, but it was fairly smooth. Seemed to be as smooth as the 2.3 with the counter balance shaft.
The power output of the 2.3 is superior to the 2.0, especially when it comes to torque at low RPM.
The 3.0 V6 is much smoother than all the 4s.
