Refurbishing them yourself Posted by Ari [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: refurbished Clarion radios, Bob Davis, Sat, 12 Oct 2002 20:04:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Clarion will repair any Clarion radio for a flat fee. That's assuming the radio hasn't been physically damaged or someone else has tried to repair it. Last time I checked, the price was $80. You send them the radio with a a list of what's wrong, and they'll send it back (post paid) with everything fixed. I've done it before, and plan on doing it again with another car's radio. It takes about 3 weeks.
You can also do this through your dealer. They send it to the exact same address at Clarion, and have it repaired by the exact same people. If you do use the dealer, they hit you with a markup. Typical dealer prices are $125-$150. The advantage of going through the dealer is that Clarion claims a faster turn-around, and will give a 1-year warrantee. Doing it yourself is only a 90 day warrantee.
Here's the information:
Clarion Corp Of America Inc.
Factory Service Center
25 Commerce Drive
Allendale, NJ 07401
(201) 818-1166
I suggest you call and find out the latest price.
I would trust Clarion doing repairs over anybody else.
