yet another problem: the insulation on wires leading to my electric fan in the engine compartment, and what looks like a temperature sensor (2.5-inch cylinder clipped to fan body) is cracking and falling off. It looks like the wires and sensor are part of units that can be unclipped from the main lead and easily replaced. is that so? how do I track down part numbers? is wrapping them in electrical tape until then safe, or am I risking a short/engine meltdown?
