But Craig listed the most popular ones.
Another thing to do is drop in a K&N air filter into the airbox for better breathing capability of the turbo.
I also have an auto, and I have been to my Saab dealer, Saab Performance Division, and this board with the question of how much power can the auto handle. This board is not so up on going beyond what Saab offers in stock version (200hp). But my dealer and the Performance Division both said the auto can handle it (granted, mine is 6K miles old, having been replaced earlier this year under Saab warranty).
But, as Craig said, frequent fluid changes are essential (every 10K miles), shift it manually if driving it hard (I let up on the gas slightly when making the shift to relieve some of the pressure), don't downshift if it will make the rpm's jump higher than 3500-4000 (causes the torque-converter to spool up madly, which it may not like), and watch out for the 1st to 2nd shift (don't let it be a crazy one).
Each person is different in what he/she wants and doesn't care to upgrade. It's really a rather personal thing. I, for one, went the route of a re-mapped ECU from BSR, which required a 3" exhaust system and better air delivery. This all resulted in transforming my baby into a beast, putting out 250+ hp. But, as you can see, one thing might lead to having to have something else, and some people do not want to get involved (or do not have the time and $$) to attempt it.
Search through this board, as well as the performance board, for tips and ideas. You can also post specific questions. One thing great about this board is that everyone is nice, helpful, and knowledgeable.
One thing also to remember is that you are not limited just because you have an auto. The 9K you have stock is already a contender, and can become one helluva winner with a tweak here and there!!!
Good luck!
