I lost the automatic transmission on my 96 9k CSE @109k miles. The front pump wore out and the front seal to blew and I lost all the fluid and the fluid was quite burnt. It's in the process of being replaced with a rebuilt unit from SAAB. I do a lot of in town driving every day, to the tune of 100-200 miles a day, mostly city driving.

How often should I replace the fluid in this trans in the future to ensure a longer life (I bought the car with 75k miles on it in April of y2k)

I am considering a transmission cooler.

And finally can I run synthetic in this transmission and if I CAN, should I?

Thanks for any and all advice.
