Kappy, Just about everything on my 91 9kt is new. I replaced just about everything when doing the head gasket/timing chain. On the torque arm I have a new rubber/poly (engine side) mix on mine. I really don't care for the vibration. Probably will drill the poly out for more flex.

My car since I bought it at 81k and 5-6yrs ago has had the hard 3 to D upshift and a hard 3 to 2 downshift. Never looked into it. I asked Ericson and they said it was probably the servo which you can't remove unless you take out the abs system or drop the whole AT.

I should be more clear on my symptoms. 2 nights ago at the end of my 45 mile commute I pulled away from the stop sign. Car just won't take off in D, then it gets up to 30-40mph and I have this binding noise and the car is shuttering. Up to speed the car runs fine. Get home and just open the hood to check AT fluid. Doesn't register on the dipstick. Add 2 quarts then take it for a drive. Shifts better but still have the noise/shutter.
Yesterday I drive the car and I'm always in D, the noise/shutter doesn't happen all the time when pulling away from a stop sign. Today the car hardly does it, but the car does not have the same pickup. Drove it in 3 and the car runs fine. Check fluid via your instructions and the level look fine. My mechanic thinks I smoked the overdrive band/clutch since I was so low on fluid. Looks like I need to start saving for a new AT.

Thanks for all your help

BrianZ
