Clutch Bleeder Screw - long post -sorry.

A while back I'd posted a thread about replacing the 5 speed/clutch in a 90 9000S. After we got it all back together with all new parts from the flywheel out and new clutch master cylinder, and bled, we got some clutch, but not as good as we wanted. So we rebled. Result: Clutch pedal to floor with no resistance at all. Lots of bubbles at the bleeder. So we went back to square one. Detached the line from the firewall to the clutch slave where it goes from flexible to steel. Bled there. We got fluid, though not quite as powerful as I might have expected, but the volume for clutch does not have to be that great. Put it back together and tried to bleed. Then I tried sucking fluid. At that point I realized the long bleeder screw from the slave cylinder was pretty sloppy. Tightened it down, and was still able to suck air/fluid through it. I have concluded that either the bleeder screw is worn [what are the chances of that!!?] or it is not the right one for that slave cylinder. The new slave did not come with its own bleeder screw. It is also somewhat different than shown in the manual. The manual shows a dust cover. When I went to Saab with my new slave cylinder in hand, and looked at the dust cover, it did not appear to me there was any way to mount it. The slave looked like it might be an updated design that eliminated the dust cover. I am thinking maybe they also changed the bleeder screw? Does anyone have any experience or ideas? If the bleeder theory fails, I will have to pull the tranny again, and that would be a REAL bummer.
