If the corrosion is in the area of the middle muffler (resonator), you might consider replacing it with a straight pipe. This is something you'll likely prefer to have a muffler shop do. It will give your Aero a throatier exhaust tone, similar to the old C900's, but will not make a large performance difference, if any at all. On the negative side, it will also produce some minor resonance or droning at high cruising speeds (>75 mph in my car), but I didn't consider it objectionable.
A 3" system sans resonator, like the JT, will increase the throatiness several steps, perhaps up to the Honda-boy-racer level. It is, after all, a four-banger like Hondas, so the sound is similar. I installed a custom 3" system sans resonator on my '95 Aero along with an ECU upgrade. I can't say what performance increase you'd realize on a stock setup, but I suspect it would be small. Going 3" on an ECU upgrade is considered mandatory to reduce EGT (exhaust gas temp). Interestingly, I haven't noticed the droning as before, and it is nearly silent in a closed car with windows up at cruise. Roll the windows down and accelerate, and you'll hear it. Personally, I love the sound, and find it just the right combo of throatiness and civility.
If you want the details of my system, from Zeke's original recommendation, let me know--but this route requires custom installation (Midas, Meineke, etc.), as the exhaust pipes must be fabricated. The cost of going this route is higher than the JT kit and installing it yourself.
