Things to check -
Checked the timing lately? Are the cap, rotor, and plugs more than a couple of years old?
I agree with Monkeyboy, check for vacuum leaks. Check all vacuum hoses for cracks, especially where the hose meets the nipple. Look for nipples missing hoses, and hoses dangling.
A common place for hoses to pop off, especially on the turbos, is at the charcoal canister. Since it's buried in the right front fender, you don't see it. Remove the right front turn signal (easily done - one screw and pull forward - be careful of the plastic pins at the back of the plastic). Peer into the fender and you'll see the top of the charcoal canister. Make sure the hoses are in place.
