After my enormous 90k service service bill (don't ask) and a set of Abbott poly front and rear roll (sway) bar bushes, and a set of front poly wish bone bushes, I was intrigued to try them out.
Well, I am happy, but fairly underwhelmed.
Reduced understeer - definitely, and that's with rear AND front bushes done. Less "floaty" on big undulations. Less play in the steering around the straight-ahead. Certainly more direct "link" between steering input and wheels. Certainly gives more confidence to press on in the wet. All in all pretty pleased.
But certainly underwhelmed. Perhaps I was expecting miracles, but the car it still a big nose heavy front drive car, whatever you do. I think a worthwhile mod - maybe my old bushes weren't as worn as I had thought - and essential if you are planning any additional performance mods.
Oh, by the way, had a new BPC and all is well (just as we suspected) on the overboost front. Was very happy to keep with a Morgan Aero 8 (the new crossed-eyed one) on the M4 the other day between 50 and 100mph, and that thing is light with 286bhp. Torque is everything. Certainly gave him a shock. Funny seeing him again yesterday in the wet screaming down the A329 to M4 slip only to bottle it and brake hard before the bend, where the Aero was quite happy and solid at speed in the rain on the same bend.
I will tell you about the effects of the ITG filter when I get round to picking it up from Dunstable - Abbott delivered the wrong one twice, by which time I had picked the car up again anyway...
Next step - 3" stainless downpipe through to 2.5" stainless Hayward and Scott exhaust.
Oh, and a new battery (grrrrrr...)
