Since I will be doing whatever I can think of to resolve this dilemma this weekend, I figured I'd give it one more try for recommendations.

What I plan on doing is:

1) Testing my BPC by following the recent threads here on the board

2) Testing my "PCV" (small check valve)

3) Installing new fuel filter

4) Checking plugs and trying a different gap (currently = 1.1mm)

5) Swapping out Hyperboost valve with oem stock BPV

6) Checking air delivery system

7) Checking all hoses for leaks

My problem once again is that I have serious turbo lag when starting out from a stop. Not a hard start, but a smooth one. The car feels like a normal 4-banger (instead of the powerhorse it is) for a few seconds until the jolt is felt from the turbo kicking in.

If I pounce on it from a stop, I noticed that the boost gauge jumps to the line between the green and yellow and pauses there for a second or more, then jumps to the red zone. It is during this pause that I've got the lag going on. Even when starting out smooth, I feel the lag, but I never noticed where the gauge is pausing at those times.

I have a BSR ECU with JT 3" exhaust, K&N air filter, and Hyperboost diverter valve. Also, my tranny is new (6K).

I had the lag slightly when I first installed the ECU back in July (yes, I did an adaptation run) with my stock BPV, never had it before with the stock ECU, but now it's gotten much worse. It's actually scary when pulling out in traffic thinking I 've got all this power and it isn't there. I started thinking it may have been related to the fact that they oxygenate the fuel here in CT from Oct. to Apr., but I don't think that would cause this.

So, anymore help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

TIA

Joe
