>> . . . is the loss of utility in the rear. Those lovely Aero seats just don't fold down all the way, like the standard seat backs do.
Well, a few facts here: My '91's seats didn't fold all the way down either, but at least had clips. Some later Aeros do have clips, but mine ('95) didn't until I added them, so now it folds down about to the same level as my '91 did. My '86 folded flat, however. I would suspect that all later-model 9K's do not fold completely flat, and I believe that '96 and later Aeros have the clips installed.
With the seats folded and clipped, I have a longer but narrower cargo area compared to my '91, which had the older body style. Now a factoid of legend, I stuffed a new, boxed, full-sized refrigerator in my '91 and it protruded out of the rear hatch only about a foot. Because of the width difference I don't know if that'd work with the Aero, but if so it might fit in all the way with the added length available. The rear-seat-down cargo capacity is the same on all CS-style 9K's, I think.
Basically, I don't agree that there is a cargo-capacity handicap when buying an Aero over any other CS-bodied late-model ('93>) 9K.
