Hi everybody, we made it to another weekend!! Just was reading the following in a NASA Tech Brief I get. Kind of a charge only when the car has small power draw on engine thingie.>>>>>Just a heads up and not Saab specific, but we may see it down the road. They are talking add on after market. Probably does a little better at increasing fuel economy.

Honeywell's automobile battery power management system monitors battery
status and engine conditions, and controls the alternator to selectively
charge the battery. Unlike conventional systems, which typically provide
electrical energy to the vehicle and battery indiscriminately, this one
monitors specific battery and engine operating conditions.

By utilizing a "surplus energy" approach, the device ensures optimum
operating characteristics of the battery -- allowing a reduction in fuel
consumption. The system provides for original equipment or aftermarket
installation in all types of vehicles and charging systems.
