... the seal, that is ... if the front seal isn't leaking, then I'd say just leave it alone. Hardest part of the pulley job is breaking the bolt loose. Jam the flywheel with a screwdriver (access hole on top of engine), then remove the bolt. An air impact wrench makes removal a lot easier, but is not a necessity. Getting sufficient torque on reinstallation is a challenge too - again, jam the flywheel.
Replacing the balance chain sprocket is certainly a good idea, but it's a pretty big job. See the link below for the procedure - and by the way, there's a section in there about removing the crank pulley.
