'cutting corners' modification

After endless tweaking with the throttle/ kickdown assembly in order to get satisfactory response at acceleration, I got a 'bright' idea and checked whether flooring the pedal would actually get the throttle actuator to its end position.
Nope, nowhere near. How come?? Well, you know, this nice thick Griffin floormat won't let it. Take out the mat, there you go!
So I ended up cutting the front corner out of the mat.
I don't know who invented this at Saab, but surely this chap wasn't that 'bright'!
After I was done I finally adjusted the cables as per textbook and took off. The car will now get me to 130km/hr (over 80 mph) in second gear @5800rpm & loves it( this is for the so-called 'slow' V6), will shift down easier when necessary. Got me from 0-100 km/hr in about 7 seconds yesterday (spec says 9,5).
This floormat is definitely worth a check. Didn't have that problem on the 92T, though.
Cheers,
Jan Geert
