I went to Sears on Saturday because I was thinking about buying the IR 107 to replace a MAC air ratchet which I had borrowed and had to return. Sears was out of the 107 (their price is $99.99) and I was looking at the Sears equivalent which is around $70. Then I noticed they were closing out the "Companion" brand air ratchet for $16. Since it had the same max torque as the Sears model, I bought it.
Well, the problem is that there seems to be no tease to the throttle. When I squeeze the lever, it's immediately full torque. Once going, I can let down the speed. I am afraid that I could end up breaking some bolts with that thing. What do you think? Should I return it and buy the Sears model? Harbor Freight has a Chicago Pneumatic for $72.99.
