You say you have a 900i and this is the 9000 board but here goes. There are so many reasons you might not be getting cold air. Starting with the worst case, does the compressor cut in? You can check this partly by the noise of the clutch, which you can hear a few seconds after starting the system up, or just by looking at the pulley to see if it's going round with the belt (blurred by movement) or stationary (not blurred!). Keep hands and clothing away, of course.

Also, feel the metal pipes leading along the top of the wheel arch (on a 9000, anyway) to see if they're really cold. If not, perhaps your refrigerant has leaked out due to corrosion (this happened on my 1993 car this year). Loss of refrigerant pressure means the compressor won't cut in anyway.

Best case is that the mechanics disconnected the wire at the plastic connector clipped to the compressor and didn't reconnect it properly. This will stop the compressor running but is very easy to fix!

Accordning the my Haynes manual, on LHD cars the refrigerant level can be checked in the sight glass on top of the evaporator to see (a) whether there is any and (b) whether it's flowing properly.

The above are just a few guesses, based on the age of the car and personal experience. If you look at the Townsend site (see the sponsors menu) there is a troubleshooting section on all the other things that might stop cold air getting through - and there are plenty of posts on this board too!

The chap who fixed my system said they should be serviced every year, but nobody seems to have this done.
