why do we have a tendency to see how old it can get before we part with the money to get a fresh battery to see us through a winter? If it is 3 yrs or more time for preventative replacement for the insurance of making the car work. Besides the charging section is better off if it doesn't have to work into a faulty battery. Are the oil and the filter changed only when they become so filthy and clogged that they just don't work anymore? There is no difference internally of the long term warranty versus the short term warranty from a manufacturer. It is just an insurance policy. Save $$, purchase the short warranty, change it at 24-30 months. It is a consumable device.
