The B308 engine has a different transmission both for manual and 5spd. I would definately get the total assembly, including alternator et al.
ok and just make it even more complicated by wanting a turbo thrown in during the same operation....
I remember one person on this board asking the same question some time ago. No mentioning on this board that someone has done it.
I think you will not escape the situation where you will have to get new wiring harnesses into the cabin. For starters, the motronic brain of the B308 is near your feet. That's a different place then the fours.
But if you really had a donor car I cannot think of an ultimate showstopper if you were prepared to go all the way. But then again, if this donor car is really that good, why not drive it??
Honestly speaking, I would either get new heads, or buy an aero.
