had to deal with this issue? I discovered them when I was looking for the drain tube for the sunroof. I pulled up the carpet on the right rear side over the wheel arch and saw a significant crack near the top of the arch. Upon further investigation I found this crack runs down to the piece the shock mounts to. There is a similar crack, though not as severe, on the left side as well and the right side sits about an inch or so lower. I took it to a body shop and though they said it could be repaired somewhat it would cost at least $1000 US. They also told me the best way to repair it is to replace the wheel well, but it would likely be at least twice as much.

What, if any, course might I be able to take with Saab. I ask, only because this situation is not due to any accidents or rust. In going over the car with the owner of the body shop he looked at all the welds and said they are factory. I know it has had some front end damage, but this would not have caused what I have in the rear wheel wells. Any insight into this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
