Hi ,
Was your sound low before you add the cd player.Because when you add the cd player the signal is then routed thru the player.A bad player will give you low sound. pull the cd and replace the shorting plug on the red cable coming out of the radio cage ,if your sound returneds to normal its your cd player.
The switch on the amp is a cheap eq for the rear speakers .It gives you 3 different freqency or tone controls, but has no bearing on your volume .A bad amp will give you only low volume in the rear. your post indicated no volume at all ,front or back.
PS try adjusting your fader and balance controls, if the fronts come in loud you have a bad amp or wires .wasyl
