Ari & Anders, Thanks for your responses. I have taken a closer look and these cracks are in the metal. As I am looking into the wheel well on the right side this crack runs from near the bottom of the shock mount (maybe 2/3 of the way down) up to the top of the wheel well. When I pull back the carpet in the trunk I can see through the crack. I also do not see any rust and as I said in the first post the rear end has not been damaged as the factory welds are still there (verified by a body shop).
It's starting to seem to me to not be worth the money it will take to repair it. I am going to have another shop take a look at it as well as a Saab tech. so I have all the input I need into this and how much of an issue it really is.
If it is structural and not caused by rust or damage of any kind is it possible Saab would cover anything like this?
