Blower Motor Dead?

I was wondering if these are symptoms of a burnt out blower motor. I am hoping it is something else since I've replaced one in an old Volvo (remove dashboard and wires heaven, +10 hours), and a VW (took many many hours to get the stubborn thing out, and realized after it was a set of easily accessible resistors that went).

It was fine a few weeks ago, cycled fine. Then started sqeaking at low setings. Then started getting less speed, and weird noise at #2. Now barely works at all at #2, even #3 its sometimes on/off weird noise. The ACC1 AUTO setting changes the settings okay, just no fan.
I was wondering if the control unit had someting to do with it too since it no longer can be set at "half settings" ie 2.5. Or, should I bite down and get another motor? Or both? Or can it be resistors also?
Thanks in advance,
Dan
