There have been quite a few threads on this subject, one or two recently, so do a search of the archives on "manual fluid," "manual oil," etc.

Basically, it would be best to either leave it alone (Saab's recommendation) or suck out the old and replenish with 10w30 fossil engine oil. Castrol GTX 10w30 or 10w40 is a good choice. Install hypoid gear oil, especially synthetic, at your own risk. There's enough anecdotal evendence to suggest that this is a deadly combo in 9K transaxles, especially pre-'94 units.

Saab's new synthetic fluid is by all indication very good, but isn't compatible with fossil oil, which is what you presumably have in your transaxle now. For that reason and since you have no drain plug I wouldn't even try to change to the new fluid unless you are breaking down the tranny and purge out all the old oil first.
