i'm longtime saab owner (2 900s and 4 9000s) and i need some insight on the following question. why did saab replace a dead reliable coil and ignition amplifier system for a di cassette system that fails with remarkable regularity? anything can be made reliable. i have a 86 9000 turbo that has never required any ignition component replacement.
after nearly 12 years i would expect saab to have refined di cassettes so that the failure rate is virtually Zero. saabs are great fun to drive and safe as hell. why alienate owners and drive away potential customers by blowing the simple stuff?
