Check engine light & SRS

Brought the 94cs turbo to Swedish Car Service in Bound Brook to have the check engine light looked at. The car displays 6 flashes check engine light and also failed emissions in high HC and CO. Turned out it was a wasted effort, entirely my own fault. On the wires of the O2 sensor I replaced, I only hooked them up with wire connectors. They were not connected tight enough so no meaningful reading could be made. It is as if I didn't have an O2 sensor hooked up. Tibor wanted to replace it with the original sensor which cost upward $250 with two days waiting time. I declined.
Back home in my garage, I rehook the wires with twisted wire nuts. I am now thinking I should solder them. How does one solder stainless steel wires? In addition, what test can you do to know there are good connections?
Picking up the 94cs turbo in his shop. I mentioned to him the SRS light on my other 94cs he reset yesterday was blinking/on no more. Still he insists it will come back because his Tech II indicated an open circuit. The SRS light came on six months ago because of a dying battery which I replaced. I don't get what he says. I am beginning to wonder if he is just a technician following the book with not much upstairs. Is there a timer in the SRS circuit which will set the light off again?
For the moment I have at least one 9k which is free of any symptoms, except the ugly lone green door on the red body.
