Proper washdown procedures after hone??

Hi there devoted rebuilders.
I have a question about the proper washing technique after a cylinder hone. I've washed with hot water and soap, scrubbing with a stiff plastic-bristled brush, and wiping with clean lint-free white cloth until no visible grit could be seen, then followed with a couple of doses of clean warm water and similar wipe downs.
The cloths look perfectly clean when wiping down, but I've noticed that after the cylinder walls dry they appear to have a slight, barely-noticeable whitish film. Otherwise all is shiny and bright, and if I wipe the cylinder walls again and again with either cloth, or my finger, I don't seem to be picking up any visible grit.
Should I be concerned about this before reinstalling the cylinder? Or is this normal, perhaps a residue from the water or soap? Note that I'm using plain Dawn dish detergent, by the way, without any lotions or conditioners in it.
Thanks in advance!
