I have not installed them yet, but I am in touch with Bo at engstrom.net who did install them on his Aero, and whom I purchased mine from.

I just bought 17x8 Mille Miglia EVO 5 rims with Sumitomo HTRZ II in size 245/45ZR17. The combo is a 5-lug set-up. I also have 16" Borbet Type H rims (soon to be shod with my current rolling stock, Dunlop SP5000 Asymmetrical in 205/55R16) which I'll be using as my winter set-up. Although I love the look of my stock 16" Aero rims, I wanted to personalize the car a little (as well as have the footings for the extra power my 9K is putting out).

The adapters are aluminum and come in black, red, or blue. The color will only show through if the rims are of open-design. They install by using the oem lug threads in the hub. You would apply Loctite to 3 bolts and install them into the threads (using the oem lug bolt torque-tightening spec to avoid warpage). Then, you use 4 new lug bolts that are shorter to hold the wheel onto the adapter's lug threads, as well as the 5th lug bolt being longer and passing through the adapter and into the remaining oem hub lug thread. Although the adapters are 3/8" thick, they do not make the tires noticeably stick out. So far, Bo has reported no problems of clearance or rubbing using the same size I recently purchased. Nor have they fallen off (though the possibility of that happening is the same as a wheel falling off).

The adapters allow the hub to use the same rims that are on NG900/9-3/9-5 (and also Cadillac Catera).
