.... the cabin fan on my 88 9kt died so i wrestled with replacing it and the heater core. I got a newer style core that had shorter stubs and had to put hoses on it to get it out of the acquarium.
... i had a hard time getting the intake back on - when i bolted it down on the back sides - it kept popping out of the hose couplings in front but i think i got it together. if those couplings are loose -- will it let air in and mess up the idle?
when i fired it up last night - it really ran rough - it had been sitting a few days,, i found a few disconnected vacuum lines .. but it still idles rough ....
....what has me concerned is i see vapor coming from the engine compartment -- i cant see any leaky hoses and it doesnt have a sweet coolant smell.. Could that be the coolant that leaked when i pulled the core out cooking off...?
... i also now see that the elbow coming out of the bottom of the evap fell out when i was getting the fan back in -- i tried to push it back in but it keeps falling -- do i really need that or will the condensate still just drain out of the holes in the acquarium bottom.?
