Cleaning AIC causing problems ?? Posted by Peter [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() |
Hey guys,
Lately my rpm was taking a while to drop when coming to a stop so I thought you know "Gummed up throttle plate" but it always idled at ~950rpm knock on wood. Anyhow, I took to the task and cleaned the throttle plate thouroughly with good throttle plate cleaner brused the residues with a clean brush and wiped the residues with a towel. I then proceeded to clean the AIC valve with the same solvent.
Results: Took it for a hard drive right after and noticed improvement in responce and definetly my rpm was acting properly upon decelerating to a stop. One problem though, as soon as the engine warms up my idle in "ParK or Neutral" is kicking to about 1500 rpm. Now what's up ? did I reckone my AIC or what ? if so, dudes beware. I will keep you posted on the results but feel free to speculate on what's happening.
