Well, Sylvania is marketing the Silverstar line as their brightest bulb. I have not tried the XtraVision line of bulbs, and unfortunately Sylvania does not provide enough data on their website to really compare these bulbs against each other. I did read on the Sylvania website that the low beam XtraVision bulb was 55 watts, whereas the low beam Silverstar bulb was 60 watts. The Silverstar bulbs are 1000 and 1700 lumens respectively for the high and low beam bulbs. The Silverstar bulbs are very much white in terms of their light output, and color perception aside, it does appear that they do put out more usable light than the stock oem type bulbs.

I am also using the high beam bulbs (with the greater lumen output) in both my low and high beam headlights, and I have not had any problem with people flashing me when my low beams are on; the additional light output using the high beam bulbs (the 9005s I think) is quite noticeable to me.
